‘Like A Big Bag Of Skin’: Man Checks In On Sister, Finds Remains Scattered Over Yard

A man went to his sister's Florida home on Monday and found her torn into pieces and body parts scattered throughout the residence, according to local reports.

Alejandro Llanes said NBC2 News reported in a Thursday article that his sister, Arelles Llanes, 58, lived alone with three large dogs in their Cape Coral home. His sister was in poor health and had probably been dead for several weeks.

“When I went inside and saw it, my first impression was that it was like a pig, like an animal. It had no legs, no arms. So it was like a big bag of skin. '' Llanes told the magazine. “I mean, it was like a horror movie, yeah, it was.”

Cape Coral police reportedly found a severely decomposed torso with limbs missing, other remains strewn around the residence, and dog feces and filth strewn throughout the home. They could not confirm whether the dog killed Alerez, but told the outlet they did not suspect foul play.

“What happened was that she didn't live a healthy life. She drank a lot of wine and didn't eat properly,” Alejandro Llanes told the magazine. “She probably collapsed in the backyard, and about a week later, the dogs were hungry. They're animals. They need to survive, so they just started eating her.”

Local animal control reportedly took in three dogs, a Shepherd mix, a Labrador retriever, and an unknown breed, for evaluation.

Alejandro told NBC2 that Alejandro had last spoken to his family in December and had consistently declined invitations to family gatherings. (Related: Americans' mental health crisis is so bad that millions are venting on Elmo's Twitter account)

“We used to call her a lot. Every time we got together as a family, I said, 'Let's spend some time together.' Christmas, New Year's Eve. But she never wanted to. She isolated herself,” he said. “When she confessed to me that she couldn't stop drinking, I said to her, well, but at least let me help you. And she always refused.”

Alejandro said he hoped his death would serve as a wake-up call for others to value human connection and professional help for mental health issues.

“Before you can love others, you have to love yourself,” he told the outlet.

Elsewhere, deputies in Tacoma, Washington, recently released a video showing them rescuing a man who collapsed inside his home after being trapped inside. The man was on the ground for four days until a friend did a welfare check and called police.
