Jared Goff injury update: Teddy Bridgewater in after Goff takes hit to head against Commanders

And Teddy Bridgewater, who just a few weeks ago led his high school team to the state championship, is playing in Jared Goff's place.

Goff was taken to the blue medical tent after being hit hard by a pick-six by the Commanders midway through the second quarter. Goff was blocked hard by Washington linebacker Frankie Luv at the end of his return, and replays showed contact to Goff's head and chin.

Although the Lions were penalized for a false start on Bridgewater's first play of the game, they were able to finish the drive with a Jameson Williams touchdown, cutting Washington's lead to just 24-21.

There's no word yet on whether Goff will return to the game, but he was seen celebrating Williams' touchdown and telling head coach Dan Campbell he's okay.

Game updates: With Detroit trailing 31-21, Goff returned to the field for the Lions' next possession.
