Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart both participated in Sunday's practice, but are listed as questionable for the Knicks' MLK Day matinee against the Hawks.
Towns has missed the past two games with a problem with his right thumb, and Hart played through soreness in his left shoulder, which he suffered in the third quarter of Friday's home loss to the Timberwolves.
The Knicks officially listed his injury as neck/neck compression.
“They finished practice. We'll see tomorrow how they're doing,” coach Tom Thibodeau said Sunday. “They were fine.”
Jalen Brunson jokingly said his two teammates “looked great” in practice and said they're both “great guys.”
Asked about Hart, his longtime teammate at Villanova and the Knicks, Brunson said, “He's the only one who can play through pain.'' [Hart] Yes, and he always was. ”

“Normally he's not a guy that takes a lot of time off. If he can go, he'll go,” Thibodeau added of Hart. “He's got a tough heart, so it was good to have him back and to see him on the field today. Let's see how he reacts. [Monday]”
According to Brunson, playing on the MLK Day holiday “means a lot” and said, “It's a privilege to play this game in this league.”
“It's rather an honor to play on a day like this. It means a lot when you play on Christmas Day, MLK's day, especially considering what he stood for and what he believed in. , I think the most important thing is that we continue to talk about him and praise what he did and just appreciate what he did. Dew.”
Thibodeau: “I think today is an important day, not just for our league, but for our country. I think everything that Martin Luther King stood for has stood the test of time. And that's It was equality for all people, not a particular group. It was really strong and powerful. And I think that's representative of our league.”
Zachary Lizacher (adductor strain) and Larry Nance Jr. (hand) are out with the Hawks. Trae Young (Achilles) and Jalen Johnson (shoulder) are likely.
