President-elect Donald Trump has said that the general public should now refer to Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone and Jon Voight as “Mr. Gibson.” Ambassadors' after appointing a trio of actors to help boost business in 'troubled' Hollywood.
President Trump, 78, addressed his decision to appoint the Tinseltown legends during his “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” in Washington, D.C., on Sunday.
The rally was held just the day before President Trump's official inauguration.
“We have Jon Voight with us tonight, who is a great actor and incredibly talented. He's a great guy and a friend of mine,” he said during his hour-long address.
“And Sylvester Stallone is here, a great guy. And you know, I appointed Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone and Jon Voight to be ambassadors in Hollywood, California, and got it off the ground. So they're all ambassadors. We need to call them ambassadors.
In the hours leading up to President Trump's speech, Voight has appeared On stage at the rally, he praised the president-elect's vision to “make America great again.”
“Our people will once again honor our flag,” Voight said, adding that the United States would be “safe again” with Trump in the White House.
The 86-year-old “Midnight Cowboy” actor also called Trump's victory “the greatest victory in history, the victory we all fought to save our country and our democracy.”
“I am so grateful to be able to say that Donald J. Trump is the 47th President of the United States,” he added.
On January 16, President Trump first announced his decision to appoint three of his longtime supporters as “Hollywood Special Ambassadors.” society of truth.
“[They’ll be] Special Ambassadors to a wonderful but deeply troubled place, Hollywood, California,” President Trump wrote from the stage.
“They will serve as my emissaries with the goal of bringing back Hollywood, which has lost so much business to foreign countries over the past four years, bigger, better, and stronger than ever!”

It was not immediately clear what the three would do in their newly appointed roles, but President Trump said they would be his “eyes and ears” in the film industry and that “I intend to follow their suggestions.” ” he said.
Stallone, Gibson and Voight have all been outspoken Trump supporters, with the “Rambo” actor even calling the president-elect “the second George Washington.”
During the campaign, Mr. Gibson criticized Mr. Trump's rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, saying she had an “IQ like a fence post.”
The trio's right-leaning stance differs from the majority of Hollywood celebrities, who overwhelmingly supported Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
It is unclear whether they will attend President Trump's inauguration in Washington, D.C., on Monday.
