As Trump stepped out of his limousine on Monday morning, Biden greeted him with a smile and a “welcome home.”

This will be Trump's second return to the White House since leaving in 2021. The first time he returned to the presidential residence was when Biden invited him to a meeting in the Oval Office just days after winning reelection in November.

The tradition of drinking tea before the inauguration first began in 1837 with Presidents Martin Van Buren and Andrew Jackson.

After the meeting, Biden and Trump will ride together to the U.S. Capitol for the swearing-in ceremony.
