The Blue Jays finally caught a big fish.
Anthony Santander, one of MLB's top remaining free agents, has signed with Toronto on a five-year deal worth more than $90 million, the Post's Jon Heyman confirmed Monday. The contract includes options.
The 30-year-old outfielder played parts of eight seasons with the Orioles and is coming off a 2024 season in which he hit a career-high 44 home runs, drove in 102 RBIs, and posted a .235 batting average and .814 OPS.
Santander has hit 105 home runs over the past three seasons and was named an All-Star for the first time last year.
The deal is a sigh of relief for the Blue Jays, who have struggled to attract top free agents north of the border.
They seriously pursued Juan Soto before he signed a 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets, and most recently was left at the altar in the Roki Sasaki sweepstakes.

It's unclear how Santander's deal will affect Pete Alonso, and the Mets currently believe the longtime first baseman will sign elsewhere as a free agent.
Toronto was considered one of Alonso's potential destinations.
