Ohio State Buckeyes fans went on a destructive rampage in Columbus on Monday night after the team won the college football national championship, breaking into the stadium and setting furniture on fire.
The winning team wasn't even in town as fans went wild after the Buckeyes defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 34-23 to win the national title at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. It was the Buckeyes' sixth national title, but their first since 2020.
Excited fans took their joy to the school's Horseshoe stadium.
Video of the raucous celebration shows fans running through the city, smashing through the stadium gates and storming onto the field.
Reported by. daily mail Police were also present, but they did not do much to stop the violent fans.
In fact, senior Natalie Freihammer, said Media outlets described the scene as “crazy,” adding: “I was surprised the police were so cooperative.”
It also appears that no arrests were made that night.

The team is scheduled to hold a ceremony at the Horseshoe next weekend, but there will likely not be a parade since the school has not held one in past title-winning schools.
