The Justice Department is asking federal prosecutors across the country to investigate state and local officials who obstructed immigration enforcement under the new Trump administration, according to a new memo obtained by Fox News.
“The Department of Justice must and will work to eradicate these threats,” Acting Deputy Attorney General Emile Bove, a former defense attorney for President Trump, said in a memo. “Certainly, it is the responsibility of the Department of Justice to uphold the Constitution and accordingly lawfully implement the policies that the American people elected President Trump to carry out.”
The memo goes on to say, “The responsibility of the Department of Justice is the responsibility of each and every employee, and we are committed to vigorously enforcing the laws of Congress and defending the President's actions on behalf of the United States against legal challenges.” This includes providing legal defense.” Rally to our taxpayer-funded office to do this vital work. ”
