MSNBC's Alex Wagner to launch 'Trumpland' podcast

MSNBC host and political reporter Alex Wagner will leave the anchor desk for his first 100 days in office to launch a podcast focused on President Trump's policies and their impact on American voters.

The limited weekly series, dubbed “Trumpland,” will include anecdotes and reporting from around the country as part of a special assignment the network announced for Wagner earlier this month.

MSNBC revealed plans to return commentator Rachel Maddow to a five-day-a-week hosting schedule for the first 100 days of the Trump administration, with Wagner saying, “The biggest stories unfolding in real time during the administration.” I will head to the scene to cover the matter.” We report on the impact of President Trump's early promises and policies on voters during his first 100 days in office. ”

Wagner was hired by MSNBC in 2022 to host the evening show at 9 p.m., as Maddow announced plans to step away from the daily show to focus on other projects.

New episodes of Wagner's podcast “Trumpland” will be released on Thursdays through April, at which point she is expected to take back her full-time hosting job from Maddow.

Wagner's foray into podcasting is part of a broader push by networks into audio, streaming and other non-linear platforms in recent months in the face of widespread cord-cutting and changing news consumer habits.
