As President Donald Trump settles into his second term in the White House, his love of burgers is well known.
In Texas, a Trump-themed restaurant inspired by the president's penchant for burgers opened on Election Day. And post-election photos of Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. enjoying McDonald's meals.

Food website Delish recently highlighted a selection of some of the healthiest burger options in America.
To determine the “healthiest,” Delish focused on nutritional facts, including calories, carbohydrates, fat, and sodium levels, for a variety of burgers from over 15 menu items.

“Burgers aren't necessarily unhealthy,” South Carolina-based nutritionist and nutritionist Laura Maneker, a nutritionist who helped compile the Delish rankings, told Fox News Digital.
“A hamburger can actually be part of a balanced diet because it's a good source of protein and iron, which are essential nutrients for the body. The key is to be mindful of what you're eating it. There is a thing.
Here's how Delish ranked the burgers, in descending order.
5. Whataburger Jr.
Texas-based fast food restaurant chain Whataburger has a fifth healthy burger featuring Whataburger Jr. products.

In-n-out burgers come standard with onions, “spread,” tomatoes, and lettuce. However, as lovers of in-n-out know, there is much more to the menu than what is officially indicated in the restaurant.
At In-N-Out, the California-based chain's “secret” menu includes the option to make “protein style.” Swap the bread for lettuce wraps.

Tips for a healthier fast food trip
Regardless of burgers, there are easy swaps to make your fast food trip a little healthier, two nutrition experts told Fox News Digital.
For one, avoid double-meat patties and consider alternatives like grilled chicken breast or veggie burgers, Michael Garko told Fox News Digital.
Galko is a Florida-based nutritional advisor for Strauss Naturals, a Canadian-based supplement company.

“Grilled chicken or vegetable patties are typically lower in saturated fat and calories compared to beef patties,” Galko said.
Also, don't forget about the impact side dishes can have on a meal, Garko said. French fries are “high in trans fat, sodium and calories,” Galko said, while a side salad (with a light dressing) contains vitamins and fiber.

If skipping the fries simply isn't an option, Vanessa Rissetto, registered dietitian and CEO of Culina Health, has another suggestion.

“If you want to have a burger with fries, my recommendation is to eliminate the bun,” New York-based Lysette told Fox News Digital.
“Bread not only adds carbs and calories, but it also disrupts all the flavors.”

Soda also plays a role, Lysette said. Those looking for the healthiest trip to a fast food restaurant should “replace soda or sugary drinks with water, unsweetened tea, or sparkling water.”
“Sugar drinks contribute to empty calories, which can lead to weight gain and insulin resistance,” she said.
