120 days: German man sets world record for living under water | Guinness World Records

A German aerospace engineer has set a world record for the longest time living underwater without 120 days in a submerged capsule off the coast of Panama.

59 -year -old Rudiger Koch appeared in a 30 -square -meter house on the sea on Friday in front of the Guinness World Record Jury Susana Reyes.

She confirmed that Koch had broken the records of Joseph Dituri of the United States, who had lived for 100 days in the Lagoon Lagoon in Florida, had previously been held.

“It was a great adventure, but now it's almost a regret. Koch enjoyed the time here after leaving the 11 -meter capsules under the sea.”

“It's beautiful when things are calm, dark, and the sea is shining,” he said about the view passing through the hole.

“It is impossible to explain. You have to experience it yourself.”

To celebrate, Koch toasted with champagne and smoked the cigar before jumping into the Caribbean. The boat picked him up and dried him for a celebration party.

KOCH's capsules had most TRAPs in modern life, including beds, toilets, TVs, computer, and the Internet.

Located for 15 minutes by boat from the northern coast of Panama, it was attached to another chamber on the waves by a tube containing a narrow staircase, providing a path for food and visitors, including doctors.

The solar panel on the surface provided electricity. There was a backup generator, but there was no shower.

Koch told an AFP journalist that he wanted to visit him in the middle of his efforts, which would change the way we think about human life.

“What we are trying to do here is to prove that the sea is an executable environment for human expansion,” he said.

Four cameras photographed his movement with capsules. He photographed his daily life, monitored his mental health, and provided evidence that he did not come to the surface.

“I needed witnesses who have been monitoring and verifying for 120 days and 24 hours a day,” said Rayes.

The record was “definitely one of the most luxurious things,” and she added that she needed a lot of work.

Koch was a worshiper of the 20,000 league League Captain Nemo in Jules Verne, and put a copy of the 19th century science fiction classic on the bedside table under the waves.
