The Department of Homeland Security issued a directive Wednesday directing other federal law enforcement agencies to assist in apprehending illegal aliens. The move is “essential” to fulfilling President Donald Trump's promise of mass deportations.

“Thanks to the previous administration's open border policies, we have seen violent criminals and gang members terrorize American society,” a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said in a written statement. “Today's action will enable Department of Justice law enforcement officers to help identify and apprehend aliens who have entered our country illegally.”

The DHS directive allows the Department of Justice to assign federal law enforcement agencies to support ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Officers and Homeland Security Investigations Special Agents to carry out the President's pledge.

“Mobilizing these law enforcement officials will help fulfill President Trump's promise to the American people to carry out mass deportations,” the spokesperson continued. “For decades, efforts to find and apprehend illegal aliens have not been adequately resourced. This is a major step toward solving that problem.”

On his first day in office, President Trump signed at least 10 executive orders affecting border security and illegal immigration, Breitbart Texas reported. One of the orders, entitled “Protecting the American People from Invasion,” calls for the efficient and expeditious removal of aliens from the United States and directs the Department of Homeland Security to expedite removal operations. order to take steps to create adequate detention facilities. .

The order also creates a Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) in each state to assist the Attorney General and the Department of Homeland Security in “dismantling transnational human smuggling and human trafficking networks.” End the existence of criminal cartels, foreign gangs and transnational criminal organizations. and “end the scourge of human smuggling and human trafficking, with a particular focus on crimes involving children.”

DHS, currently under the direction of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, has issued an order to reinstate the humanitarian parole program that was abused during the Biden era. The order returns parole for immigrants to a “case-by-case” basis.

“The Biden-Harris Administration abused the Humanitarian Parole Program to indiscriminately admit 1.5 million immigrants into our country,” a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson wrote. “All of this was stopped on the first day of the Trump administration. This action returns the Humanitarian Parole Program to its original purpose of considering immigrants on a case-by-case basis.”
