New York (AP) -Neil Giman's publisher dropped him because the British author faced multiple claims of sexual assault and harassment. And his name is not on the website of an agency that has been processing his appearance for many years.
Dark Horse Comics announced last weekend that it will not release an illustration series based on Gaiman's novel Anansi Boys. The seventh of the eight planned editions was announced earlier this month.
“Dark Horse seriously accepts Neil Giman's claims and we are no longer publishing his work,” read a statement of Dark Horse, which contains Giman's book on the website.
A claim to Gaiman, known for the bestsellers such as the “CORALINE” and “The Sandman” series, first appeared last summer in the turtle media podcast. Gaiman responded in a blog post after the long -term New York magazine article in New York magazines was assaulted, abused, and forced.
“Like most of us, I am learning and trying to do the necessary work. I know it is not an overnight process,” he wrote. “At the same time, I do not accept abuse, as I look back at the past, and at the same time, again, in contrast to everything that has happened.”
Guiman's office and his literature agent did not respond immediately to comment requests on Monday.
Gaiman has been working with many publishers for many years. The two of them, HarperCollins and Ww Norton, have stated that there is no plan to release his book in the future. Others, including Bloomsberry, have rejected comments.
Gaiman lists Steven Barkray Jean on his website as a personal appearance, but his name is not posted on the agency's client list. Berkeley did not respond immediately to the comment request.
Disney has paused the planned adaptation of Guiman's “Cemetery Book”, but Netflix will release the second season based on The Sandman.
