Matt Eberflus has a new job.
The cowboys were hired on Tuesday to make the EXBAS head coordinator a defensive coordinator. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network。
Eberflus spent a part of the three seasons in Chicago, went to 14-32, was fired in late November after the 4-8 start of the 2024 campaign.
He replaced Dallas for a long -standing defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.
Eberflus spent seven seasons with the 2011-17 cowboys, and served as a franchise lineback coordinator and pass game coordinator.
He worked as a defensive coordinator in Colts before the 2018 season and spent three years before becoming a Bears head coach.
Eberflus is the first large -scale employment of Cowboys after naming Brian Shoten Hyumer to a new head coach of the team.
Shoten Hymer, a Dallas attack coordinator in the past two seasons, replaced the Mike Mucker Sea earlier this month.
The owner Jerry Jones defended his decision at a new coach's introductory press conference on Monday, as the employer of the Shoten Hymer was controversial in Dallas.
“I kicked my proverb's ass in my comfort zone,” Jones told reporters. “If this doesn't exist in some way, if I don't think I can get out of my comfort, you are very wrong and incredible.
“This is as big risk as possible. You have as much risk as possible. I have no head coaching.”

Cowboys have been away from the nightmare-like season of 2024, and after injury to both sides of the ball, they became 7-10.
Eberflus bears the task of revitalizing Dallas's defense this season, allowing the second and fifth points in NFL.
In the year, the cowboys won 12 games in three consecutive victories and played on playoffs every year, but only one play -off game was won during that period.
