There were 60 passengers and four crew members on a flight from Wichita, Kansas from Washington. Authorities have said that they have switched from rescue missions to healing missions because there are no survivors from an airplane that collided with military helicopters.
“First, and most importantly, I want to express deep sadness in these events,” says Isom. “This is a difficult day for all of us in American Airlines, and our efforts are now completely focused on the needs of passengers, crew, partner, firstless ponders, family and loved ones.”
ISOM said that the company has been evaluating crashes and responding to the situation in cooperation with local, state, and federal authorities.
“We are fully cooperating with the National Traffic Safety Commission and the survey, and we will continue to provide as much information as possible,” he said.
The airline chief added that the company wants to learn as much as possible about crashes, but has acknowledged that it will take time.
ISOM, who joined the authorities at a press conference on Thursday, said that the company was “absolutely sad” about the “catastrophic” crash, and is looking for more information about the affected passengers. He said he provided help to his friends and his family.
The members of the American Airlines “GO Team” are being developed to support the situation.
“I know that there are many questions in this early stage. I can't answer many people, but I will provide additional information,” said ISOM.
