Orlando, Florida -After a tough start, Nelly Corda, the world's number one, finally found her groove on Friday and greatly raised the leader board at the Hilton Grand Vacation Tournament of Champions.
She started with three straight par and bogey. It was generally dropped to an even par for championships in 22 holes. Corda started in the 10th hole, so after giving up the shot with the 13th par par 3 par 3, she reached 2 under with two consecutive birdies in 14 holes and 15th holes. Another pube -layer following the challenging par 4 18th, and then she made three more birdies at Front 9 to finally card 5 under 67.
“I made a little more pad just a little more uppercase. I hit some more solid shots today,” said Corda.
“I have been playing a little soft and long compared to the past few years. Hit some really solid shots and make them uppercase today.”
Corda is currently sitting in the third line with Riotakeda in Japan and Leona Magwire in Ireland. Lin Kim, who shot a stunning round of 65 on the first day, continues to retain the lead. She shoots 3 under 69 on Friday and is currently sitting in 10 under. Swedish Ringlant, on the other hand, shoots 67 on Friday and is the second solo in 7 under.
No player posted a lower score than 67 in the second round.
Along with Corda and Grant, Defending Champion Lydiako posted 67 on Friday. New Zealanders are sitting in 4 under the championship.
