Another Trump win: Mexico agrees to send more troops to border, pause tariffs

President Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Monday that Mexico and the United States have reached an agreement to strengthen border security to avoid 25 % of tariffs this week.

As part of the agreement, Shenbaum said that it was sending 10,000 national security squads to the US Mexican border to ensure more regions.

The hard bargain with Trump's Mexico is almost accurate in his trading with illegal immigrants in his first term. Trump threatened several illegal immigrant caravan to impose tariffs on Mexico in 2019 after reaching the US border. At that time, Mexico's Andre Manuel Lopez Oblador ordered a newly created Mexican National Security Corps on the northern and southern borders of the country, preventing tariffs from being implemented.

Immigration caravan is no longer a matter of the remaining term of Trump. Caravan again became a problem when the Biden Harris administration demolished most of Trump's border security measures in 2021.
