A liberal Michigan representative revealed Wednesday that President Trump returned to the White House and had undergone sterile surgery to prevent her from becoming pregnant.
The shocking entrance by 36-year-old Rep. Laurie Pochtsky took place during a rally at the Michigan State Capitol, where protesters expressed their opposition to Trump's return to power last month.
“Just two weeks ago I had surgery to make sure I didn't have to navigate my pregnancy in Donald Trump's America,” Pochtsky said. According to Michigan advance.
“I refuse to treat my body as currency by a government that only sees the value of my fertility.”
“If you know anyone who questioned how serious this is, I'm going to repeat myself. The sitting government officials were unsure that they would have access to birth control in the future, so they would have spontaneous sterilization. I chose to do that,” she told the outlet.
Pochtsky, who represents the state's 17th district, including parts of Detroit, is serving his fourth term in office.
Democrats confronted her remarks when the rage spread to social media during Pohvtsky's Thursday speech.
“The fact that so many conservative men are under personal attack on my decisions with my husband about my health care and future should not assume we are safe to say that what is right is right. It's just to prove that point,” she said. Posted on social media.
