New Orleans – Not the first time.

Eli Manning failed to get the votes needed for his first vote election to be inducted into the Professional Football Hall of Fame.

Manning was in his hometown this week for various events and appearances leading up to Super Bowl LIX, but this was not an epic homecoming for him.

The former Giants quarterback is loved by the fan base for the glory he brought to the franchise, who starred, won and was named the most valuable player in two Super Bowl wins, so at least he could have done so. I have to wait at least another year to see if I will join him, my brother, Payton, Canton.

Whether he went in or not, Manning was scheduled to dine with his closest 30 family and friends at Laoz, the famous East Harlem eatery.

Rao's Gridiron Club opened a pop-up restaurant in the warehouse district for a 5 night big easy, and Manning won three tables at this exclusive location.

Manning missed his first year in the vote as there were enough skeptics on the 49 selection committee to not consider him worthy of the admittance of the first borot.

Some voters may not see him as a Hall of Fame at all based on his modest regular season achievements.

Ultimately, Bilbericchick and Tom Brady aren't just one and only one performance in his epic performance in two playoff runs after the 2007 and 2011 seasons and how he stumbled on the mighty patriots But it wasn't enough time around to step him into the hall.

And it didn't seem Manning missed it. Linebacker Luke Kechiley, kicker Adam Vinatieri, wide receiver Tory Holt and offensive lineman Willie Anderson cut to seven. So, all four of them will be automated finalists in the new Hall of Fame voting process next year.

Manning didn't even enter the final ten of the vote.

The 2025 Hall of Fame class will consist of defensive end Jared Allen, tight end Sterling Sharp, cornerback Eric Allen and tight end Antonio Gates. No one who was new to vote won the election.

A few weeks before the votes were held and the results became official, Manning told the Post he had taken all that much.

“I think it's different just because it's everything from your hands, you're not campaigning for it, you're talking to people about it or trying to prove your point. No,” Manning said. “If I come in, it's going to be incredible in New Orleans, incredible days. Otherwise, it's not going to ruin it for me. I'm not going to be in a bad mood. I'm not going to slow down. It's a great honor to be included in the top 15 this year, so I consider this all a positive and enjoyable experience.”

Manning was named MVP of the Super Bowl XLII in Glendale, Arizona – a 17-14 victory – and an Indianapolis Super Bowl XLVI – a 21-17 victory.

He is one of only 13 quarterbacks with two Super Bowl Championships, seven of which are in the Hall of Fame. There are only six quarterbacks in NFL history who have won multiple Super Bowl MVP awards.

The elite groups Joe Montana, Burt Starr and Terry Bradshaw have been enshrined. Brady and Patrick Mahomes can be quickly enrolled if they are qualified.

Therefore, Manning is the only retired two Super Bowl MVP who is not guaranteed to enshriting.

Manning, 44, retired after the 2019 season. His 57,023 passing yards and 366 passing touchdowns remain in the top 10 all the time. His consecutive game win streak of 210 has been tied for the 10th longest.

When asked in the post what he was most proud of his career, Manning mentioned his performance in the biggest game and his reliability and durability.

“I'm thinking about what's most special to me,” Manning said. “Obviously, the championship is a goal for any player, especially from a quarterback perspective, just because you have so much control in your hands, and the patriots are the goal. I think the fact that I did it against it is the fact that I did it to win it. It's one of my powerful suits as a player, stepping up into a critical game and then the fourth It's a two-minute drive at a crucial moment in the quarter game, and it's not too big for me.

“And never missed a game for injuries and had a consecutive win in a row. [210 games] I had, it was always important to me. These are some of the biggest things I'm most proud of as a player. ”

Those who questioned whether Manning's resume was ready for his first year pointed to his regular season career record with a modest career passage rating of 84.1 (60th). One vote was made for the regular season MVP award and was named to only four Pro Bowls in 16 seasons.

This year, there were no other quarterbacks out of the 15 finalists in Hall of Fame considerations.

Next year, Drew Brees will be eligible for election, with Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Brady and, ultimately, Aaron Rogers.

It does not make the path to the hall easier for Manning.
