Vice President Vance on Friday argued that Government Efficiency (DOGE) staff who resigned after his social media posts in support of racist beliefs were revealed should be hired.
When speaking out on the issue, Vance said the social media posts weren't the reason he was fired, calling the 25-year-old aide an assistant “child” by calling him Elon Musk, Dodgehead.
“Here's my view: I clearly disagree with some of Erez's posts, but I don't think stupid social media activities should ruin a child's life,” Vice President said. I said on social platform x. “We shouldn't reward journalists who try to destroy people. Until now. So I say I'll bring him back.”
“If he's a bad guy or a terrible member of the team, I'll fire him for that,” he added.
He responded to a post from X's Musk and voted for the public about whether “staff who made inappropriate statements should be reclaimed.
White House officials resigned on Thursday, Marco Erez, who had “read-only” access to the Textile Treasury Department's payment system, will be demolishing federal offices through Doge, who resigned on Thursday. He told Hill that he was engaged.
Erez's racist, now deleted social media posts have been revealed and first reportedWall Street Journal.
According to the journal, the accounts related to Erez, published in September “Normalizing India's Hatefulness,” are published about people of Indian ethnic groups working in the US technology sector.
The journal also reported that the account wrote, “You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity.”
Erez was a central figure in the overhaul of Doge's federal agency, and this week was linked to Musk and his peers overrunning the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
