Bail revoked for NY pawn shop duo tied to Joe Burrow burglary

A pair of Diamond District pawnshop owners, who were accused of nearly $5 million in stolen goods being thrown into prison on Friday, are the prolific targets of NFL stars, a judge ruled on Friday. This is because it's too dangerous considering its relationship with South American robbery crew.

Brooklyn Federal Court Judge William Kunz revoked bail for 43-year-old Dimitri Nezinski and 48-year-old Juan Vijarer, both of which created the “Super Bowl of Criminal Activities,” and “large to many communities across the United States.” He said it caused danger.

“This is the Super Bowl that these defendants have to look at from the sidelines. This is something they won't see,” the judge said, adding that Sunday's game and the robbery of the NFL players' home in this case. He said in reference to the allegations including:

Villa, a US-born Queens resident, paid $500,000 bail in less than 24 hours after he stepped up his bail application when a judge overturned the sentence. Prosecutors attempted to detain a pair who claimed to have worked with five crew members associated with the ring that targeted Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Barrow.

Nezinski, a Georgian native from North Bergen, New Jersey, has filed all the documents needed for a $1 million bail padded by his 78-year-old father's life savings, but even the high price persuades the judge. I couldn't do it. He called his father's generosity “admired.”

The judge repeatedly referenced the “violence” caused by the pair, even though the defendant also had not charged with a violent crime.

Nezinski's lawyer Todd Greenberg appealed to the judge after it seemed he thought the conditions for both defendants' lawyers were still good.

The lawyer said the violence, including Nezinski, was “purely speculation” at this point, but the judge refused his claim.

Both men have connections with Brian Leandro Herrera Maldonado, described as “prolific theft” that committed at least 16 home robberies in the United States in 2019 and 2020.

The federal government says Nezhinskiy and Villar received and sold stolen luxury items, including high-end watches and gems that were pulled by South American gangs.

Nezhinskiy is linked to the robbery of Burrow's $7.5 million mansion in Anderson Township, Ohio in December, the Feds allege.

Nezhinskiy and Villar plead not guilty to accusations of conspiracy and receipt of stolen property. If convicted, they will last up to 10 years.

Their lawyers said both clients were interested in plea bargaining. They both plan to appeal the judge's decision to revoke bail.

The judge set a trial date for August 4th.

The FBI said Friday that they were looking for potential victims of the Big Apple's common buyer. The Diamond District store is run by Nezinski and Villard.
