President Trump is scheduled to visit New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX on Sunday morning after playing golf with Tiger Woods at Trump International Golf Club in Florida, White House officials told Fox News .
Trump is expected to head to Caesar Superdome for a match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
An interview with Fox News Channel's Bret Baier will also air by 3pm.
Trump and the forest have been getting closer over the years. Woods announced his mother's death earlier in the week.
“It's a heartfelt sadness to share that my beloved mother, Kurchida Woods, passed away early this morning,” Woods wrote in an X post. It cannot be denied. She was quick with needles and laughter. She was my biggest fan and biggest supporter. She was loved by so many, especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie.
“I would like to thank you for your support, prayers and privacy for me and my family during this difficult time. I love you mom.”
Trump expressed his sadness to the legendary golfer. Kultida Woods was with his son, who was awarded the Presidential Order of Freedom by Trump in 2019.
“We've been informed that Tiger Woods' wonderful mother, Kurchida, has passed away. She went to the eco-friendly fairway!” Trump wrote in the post. “Kultida Woods has made an incredible impact on Tiger, giving him much of his strength and brilliance. Melania and I will send our love and prayers to Tiger and his incredible family. !”
It is unclear whether Woods will be in the game.
Super Bowl LIX coverage begins at 1pm. It will air on Fox and stream live on Tubi.
