If the Mavericks wanted Anthony Davis's Star play to help calm Dallas' anger in the Luka Donsic deal, they have to come up with another way to do that Sho.
Davis, acquired as part of the highly unpopular Don Chic trade, goes out for a few weeks for a left adductor muscle strain, ESPN reported on Sunday night.
The NBA Big Man has already been ruled out in Monday's game against the Kings, and now it looks like he can leave court for a month.
Davis left Saturday's game against the Rockets (his Mavericks debut) and released 1:37 in the third quarter.
He scored 26 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists and three blocks for excellent performances from his new team.
Davis previously spoke with reporters on Saturday, when he appeared to be a little more optimistic about his situation going forward, explaining that he is “very confident” if he doesn't retreat.
“Like a little convulsion, my legs were tight,” Davis said. “I just came back and tried to loosen it. Obviously, I'm still dealing with AB tension, so I tried to loosen it. It really loosens and I won't let go, but that's not serious. I'm fine. . “
With Davis on the sidelines, this means it will need to be replaced with the upcoming NBA All-Star Game, which will be held in San Francisco later this month.
Applies to NBA commissioner Adam Silver and chooses two injury alternatives. One is for Davis and the other is Giannis Antetocompo, a star who deals with calf tension.
Davis averaged 25.7 points and 12.0 rebounds, shooting 52.8% off the field in 43 games for the Lakers and Mavs this season.
