Brother of Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz arrested trying to break into schools: cops

Police say the younger brother of Parkland School shooter Nicholas Cruz was arrested in Virginia after attempting to break into three different schools.

Zachary Cruz, 24, was caught up in a school's security camera “showing the inside and showing efforts to gain unauthorized access,” according to the Augusta County Sheriff's Office.

He was allegedly attempted to join the Career and Technical Center at Wilson Middle School, Wilson High School and Valley late January 25th, and was arrested “without incident” last Tuesday.

The younger brother of the Florida School Shooter, who massacred 17 people in 2018, was charged with trespassing and was released Thursday at a May 1 hearing.

“We understand how much this is bothering you, your family and our community,” Sheriff Donald Smith told school families.

“The safety and security of all students, staff and community members is our number one priority. We want to ensure that this issue is taken very seriously.”

Smith said the school has strengthened security measures and police are “monitoring potential threats, keeping in touch with school officials and ensuring all necessary precautions are taken.” .
