Reports say that a Texas High School teacher was accused of having sex with a male student this week.

Spears, who began working at the Barbers Hill Independent School District in August 2021, resigned from her position in June 2023, the district announced. KPRC 2 reported.

“Molly Spears worked as a high school teacher at Barbers Hill ISD from August 2021 to June 2023. She resigned earlier this month,” a district spokesman told the outlet at the time. .

“According to each policy, the district will not review internal investigations of any issues.”

State records show that her education certificate has been listed as “inactive” since September 2024, and educators are investigating allegedly cheating. According to Texas Educational Institution records.

The reason why she was not taken into custody at the time remains unknown.

“MS. Spears was first notified of the charges two days ago and we acted to set up the bonds and put them in place immediately,” Attorney Christopher L. Tritico told KPRC2.

The Barbers Hill ISD Police Department did not immediately respond to a post office request for comment.

The shikko teacher surrendered to the Chambers County Jail Tuesday and was released on a $50,000 bond, the outlet reported.

If convicted, she could have spent up to 20 years behind the bar.

The district previously made headlines when a black student at DreadLocks was suspended for violating the facility's dress code.
