The USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier was involved in a collision with a merchant ship near a port near Egypt in the Mediterranean on Wednesday, the Navy said.
“Nimitz class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) was involved in a collision with the merchant ship Besikutas-M on February 12th at about 11:46pm, and while operating near the port, he was involved in a collision with the merchant ship Besikutas-M. , Egypt in the Mediterranean,” the Navy's 6th Fleet official duties said in a statement.
“The collision did not endanger Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) due to no reports of flooding or injuries. The propellant plants are unaffected and in a safe and stable condition,” he added. .
The Navy said the incident is currently “under investigation.”
