Five small earthquakes, including two noisy things just a few minutes apart in the San Francisco Bay area, rocked California on Thursday.
Two earthquakes occurred, 3.4 and 3.2, around noon near Hayward, just south of San Francisco, according to the US Geological Survey.
They reported that it occurred along an earthquake hotspot called the Hayward Fault, and that around 2,000 people were feeling the shaking USGS “Did you feel that?” report tool.

Earthquakes of that size are considered minor and usually only result in light shaking, but California has 5 on Thursday alone, including another small earthquake near Hayward and two small shaking near Petrolia in the northern state. I saw one such earthquake.
Golden State also caused four minor earthquakes on Wednesday, with the biggest earthquake of the week – a 4.5 magnitude rumble near Petrolia – which happened Tuesday night.
