Federal employees are on probation from anywhere 1-2 years After being hired, the agency will still have workplace protection, but easier to remove.
Office of off-limits of personnel management (OPM) officials are: 200,000 Federal employee.
Sources familiar with OPM said the agency leader had directed the agency Dismiss all probation employees “With a few exceptions.” It was not immediately clear what these exceptions were, or the extent of discretion given to the agency.
The United States Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), the federal government's largest employee union, has pledged to fight layoffs and said it would hinder the government's performance.

The Trump administration also uses two other methods to grasp the workforce. The executive order from President Trump is a “fork on the road” program that directs power cuts to be implemented and offers acquisitions to federal workers.
Government-wide institutions, Includes OPMhas already begun to carry out layoffs of probation employees.
Reports from numerous outlets wrote plans to fire probation workers in Ministry of Energy, Department education and Small and Medium Enterprise Management.
It is not clear whether such widespread dismissal of employees still on probation is legal.
