Human smugglers use TikTok to promote illegal border crossings from Canada to US: Report

Human smugglers are reportedly using social media platforms to boldly promote illegal border crossing services from Canada to the United States.

New York Post On Saturday, it reported that several ticoku accounts created by Canadian smugglers discovered that they would promote illegal human trafficking operations. Some accounts have been reported and deleted quickly, but new accounts continue to appear on the platform, the outlet noted.

According to the report, smugglers charge up to $5,000 for foreigners to illegally cross one social media post in the US, obtained by an outlet that claimed to offer “cheapest” prices for $4,000. I knew it was.

This post has been contacted by a smuggler. Smugglers said illegal crossing services cost $4,500 per person to travel from Montreal to New York.

“When you're ready to go, send us your ID,” the smuggler told the news outlet. He also promoted “Group Walk” to help five foreigners enter the US illegally.

The ads are primarily aimed at Indian citizens, the news outlet said.

Featuring photos of four men and images of the American flag, the post promised that illegal travel is “100% safe” and boasting “safe routes” to the United States.

He also said foreigners can pay once they arrive at their destination.

The post reported that another social media post similarly stated “payment after it is out of reach.”

“It's 100% safe,” he added.

The smuggler's services reportedly departed from Montreal. Brampton is about 30 miles in Toronto. Surrey, about 22 miles from Vancouver.

According to the post, foreigners can be dropped off in upstate New York or Washington.

One smuggler detailed the journey as a two-hour car ride, then took a 25-minute walk through the woods before arriving in New York.

The social media accounts included testimony from “satisfied customers” who described the journey as “easy” and “comfortable.”

“The service was outstanding, so we passed very easily,” one testimony reportedly read.

Rep. Nicole Malliotakes (RN.Y.) said, “The Department of Justice should investigate how these apps are being used for malicious activities and get help from the companies that run them.” He said.

Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-Mont.) said Fox News Digital“The danger is they're going to go where we aren't.”

“There were hundreds of intersections at the Northern border from terrorist watchlists,” he added. “[There’s] Many borders and many distances between officers. ”
