Authorities say a good Samaritan from New Mexico defeated a bank robber last month.
Hamberto Garcia Rodriguez sat in the lobby of the Bank of Montreal (BMO) in Albuquerque. I was spotted According to a report from Kob 4, men enter and push women out of the way.
According to court documents, the man later identified as John Martin had just taken the same bank a month ago.
Police said Martin was a teller and imitated a gun and demanded cash. Meanwhile, Rodriguez decided to take action.
Video footage shows Rodriguez coming out behind Martin and working on him before he takes time off. As the brawl began, a total of $2,422 in cash jumped into the air, scattered across the men's legs.
As the struggle continued, other patrons and staff joined in efforts to hold Martin down while they waited for authorities to arrive.
Police arrived a few minutes later and detained the bank robber.
Martin is then charged with robbery. His photos were taken at a police station and participated in several other mug shots that had been accumulated in connection with previous crimes, including drug charges, assault and prostitution, KOB 4 reported.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez is welcomed with the hero of his actions to stop crime.
