Live updates: Senate weighs Chavez-DeRemer nomination; Trump praises Musk's work

The Senate sets the full agenda Wednesday as it plunges into budget debates and rolls through confirmations from the Trump administration.

On Tuesday night, the vote began a 50-hour discussion on a resolution funding President Trump's agenda. But the two-part Senate version funds everything at once and opposes the House version that gained Trump's support on Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, Trump's small business administration pick Kelly Loeffler faces confirmation votes across the Senate, and his labor candidate, former lawmaker Lori Chavez Deremar (R-ore). I'll sit for the meeting.

A joint interview with Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk aired on Fox News Tuesday night. In particular, Musk opposed Democrats' attacks on his work with Government Efficiency (DOGE). As cost cuts went through government sectors, Trump only praised Musk.

With Ukraine's war with Russia for the next three years, President Voldodymyr Zelensky is using more concise rhetoric to oppose efforts to create peace without his own opinion. On Tuesday, Trump appeared to blame Ukraine on the war. On Wednesday, Zelensky called for Trump to live in a “disinformation space” in Russia.

Trump has been in Florida for most Wednesday, attending Saudi Arabia meetings and has since signed more executive orders.
