A Polish woman who claims she is Madeleine McCann was arrested on Wednesday when she arrived at the UK airport.
Julia Wandert – also Julia Wendell and Julia Fatina – were handcuffed and detained shortly after landing on British soil. Daily Mail Report.
Police at Bristol Airport approached the age of 23 and arrested her on suspicion of stalking and harassing the missing girl's parents, Kate and Jerry McCann.
Wandert was planning to jump in from Wroclaw, Poland, to meet a friend in the UK. A friend, who is not named but is believed to be in her 60s, has also been arrested.
The arrest comes days after Wandelt claimed he “strongly supports” her theory that a new set of DNA test results are related to Jerry McCann.
She first attracted global attention in 2023 after creating the “@iammadeleinemccann” Instagram account, which questioned whether she was three years old who disappeared on a family holiday in Portugal in 2007.
However, Wandelt was hit in April 2023 as DNA tests determined she was not a missing girl.
Instead, the tests revealed that she is a legacy of Polish, Lithuanian and Romanian. As a result, she apologises to Kate and Jerry for the ordeal.
This post contacted McCans, Avon and Somerset police for comments.
Earlier this month, Wandelt returned to Instagram with a new account. @amijuliawandelt. In several posts, she shared new DNA results claiming it was submitted to “world experts” in the field.
Although she did not name the experts, Wandert claimed that her DNA matches some of the infant's important facial features.
In a series of posts on the platform where she called Kate and Jerry McCann “my parents,” Wandert said, “The real DNA outcome is that I am part of a British, Irish person. It shows it.”
She added that genetic evidence “is strongly support Jerry McCann's potential to become Julia Wandert's biological father.”
McCanns therefore “refuses” to participate in the test.
Wandelt previously spent quite a bit of time proving that she was a missing girl. This involves submitting samples of three different forensic tests for DNA and 23andme style genetic testing to establish an ancestor.
On social media, she tried to prove her case by pointing out the physical similarities between herself and Madeleine.
She was “Dr. Phil,” denied her biological parents' claims that she would steal her birth certificate and childhood photos to hide her true identity.
