Pennsylvania driver Josh Keating survives near-fatal strike after flying ice shatters windshield: ‘Had angels with me’

The Pennsylvania driver counts his blessings after a chunk of ice comes off a passing cicada and crushes his windshield with a horrifying brush.

It was a Monday afternoon for Pocono Pines electrician Josh Keating, who was traveling for work to work from Pottsville to Allentown.

According to Keating, a moment of heart stopping occurs when a large ice is fired in the opposite direction from a UPS tractor trailer on Eastern Interstate 78 near Hamburg. I did.

“The next thing I know is, I saw for a moment, out of nowhere. All I heard was a crash and a bang, and my windshield came in,” he said. Ta.

He said the suddenness of the event caused him to temporarily confuse.

Luckily Keating manages to pull safely and escapes with minor cuts and bruises in his hand.

“I definitely had an angel,” he said.

Pennsylvania State Police confirmed the weather in Fox that the investigation was actively working to cause the crash. They will make public information regarding potential fees if submitted.

According to state lawPennsylvania drivers are legally required to remove snow and ice from their vehicles within 24 hours of snowfall.

Otherwise, you could face fines ranging from $200 to $1,500, especially if you experience decommissioned ice.

Windows that are blocked by snow or ice are also illegal.

Keating is now an advocate for the voices of road safety.

He urges all drivers, especially commercial vehicles, to take the time to properly clean up their vehicles before they leave the road.

“I've been telling people to take that extra time, that extra minute and clean their cars,” he said. “In the end, everyone gets to point B from point A and then they go home again. This helps me and everyone else safely return home.”
