It's time for a national conversation about what it means to be a man, in the wake of the left's attempts to shame manly, not afraid of cancellation or professional retaliation.
In the recent collective approval of a return to biological reality and common sense, men win women's awards, enter women's facilities, play women's sports, and participate in women's beauty contests I overwhelmingly agree that you shouldn't do that. And if someone suspects, a man cannot menstruate or become pregnant. What men can't or shouldn't do is who ask for questions, and what they should do? This is what I say to my three sons:
1. Do the right thing
In May 2024, a young man from Pi Kappa Phi saw media reports as he protected the American flag at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill when Lunatics tried to sec it. At those moments I explained to my sons that they were real men who kept the flag, representing the principles that their father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather fought to support. Male men do the right thing, such as making sacrifices for their country, even when it is unpopular and potentially dangerous.
The UNC Flat Brothers, who protected our flag, said “deeply important to us.”
Before Covid, I didn't talk about politics in front of my son, but I took them to the polling station to show that voting is a key citizen's responsibility. Left-wing policies, including school closures, mask mandatory, mandatory pronouns, and confusing lessons about racial hierarchy, have brought politics directly to our country's children in schools.
2. Become a team player and understand leadership
Male men are willing to stand up against their principles and lead in opposition to grain, not necessarily to give orders head on, but by bringing out the best for others around them.
The boy faces adversity and is given multiple opportunities to support his beliefs long before he becomes a man. It's not too early to practice doing the right thing.
The family is the ultimate team and the father has a very important leadership role. TV characters such as Al Bundy, Homer Simpson, and Phil Dunphy portray their father as stupid, immoral and unworthy, and the role of men in their family is too long. Sports teams offer moments where boys are taught about the leadership they can bring to their fathers.
3. I know how to take a punch
For example, sports teams teach boys how to punch literally and in a philosophical way. While observing my father and husband, two masculine men I deeply respect, I realized that being a man involves knowing how to deal with physical pain . When my sons are tackled on the soccer field or hacked with lacrosse sticks, they are learning to stay clear while delivering better results in pain.

I also tell my sons that when they take the plausible punches that often occur in games with catastrophic losses and low performance sports, it is important to learn from them and then move on. My husband, who coaches many teams, often says, “What do the best athletes have? A short memory.”
4. Earn money
Men must be the best possible provider. When my former colleague's wife was hoping for her first child, he asked during the luncheon if she had any advice for her younger father. The man simply replied, “Make money.” I thought it was hilarious until I had my own child. At that point he found himself extremely serious and gave his colleagues excellent basic advice.

With this in mind, I say to my sons. Anything What kind of thing do you want to be? engineer or merchant I'm just kidding. Their future university education and training hopes to generate skills and knowledge that will make money and become a successful provider for their families.

5. Show courtesy
Finally, follow the Golden Rule. Masculinity is not about putting up poor “kind” signs in the garden type way, but about showing genuine courtesy. In everyday habits and conflicts, we rarely regret going high. It is highly appreciated that it is chivalrous by holding open doors, providing jackets for dates, respectful, allowing women to enter the restaurant or leave the elevator first. It is an important aspect of continuing masculinity.
Contrary to the underlying message from the “Barbie” film, our society has an essential role for male males. Podcasters such as Joe Rogan understand the need for conversations about masculinity and the important role men play in their families and across the nation.

In addition to all the issues I discuss with my sons about what comes with them, there are few more worthwhile than the examples their fathers offer them. When I was pregnant with my eldest son, I planned to return to work as a political analyst and speechwriter when he was three months old. The plans changed while he held him in my arms just hours after he was born. I quickly informed my husband that he needed to find a way to make more money for me Loss of salarySo I was able to stay home with my kids. Despite his initial shock at my maternal epiphany, he did just that.
At that point, it made it clear to me that being a real man means understanding and doing what your family needs. In their fathers, my sons always see the man who puts his family first.
