Oklahoma Father Addresses Viral Incident Involving Daughters in Women’s Restroom
Tyler Brodsky, a father from Oklahoma, recently shared his side of a story that gained significant attention when police were called after he took his two young daughters into an empty women’s restroom. He expressed that the men’s restroom didn’t feel safe for his daughters, which led to some public backlash. Brodsky highlighted the importance of protecting his children and mentioned their fear during the incident.
In a related event, a customer was dismissed from a Mississippi real estate firm after berating Brodsky for his actions at a gas station. Overstreet Properties, the company involved, acknowledged via social media the video in which the man, an independent contractor, was featured.
They stated, “The conduct shown in the video does not align with our values or the standards expected from our representatives.” The company clarified that they have severed ties with the man, who was initially reported by TMZ.
The video in question was recorded by Brodsky while traveling with his daughters. They stopped at a KwikTrip gas station in Alabama, where Brodsky opted for the women’s restroom, given that it was unoccupied. Shortly afterward, he encountered a man who began shouting and demanded that Brodsky leave.
Reflecting on the situation during an appearance on “Fox & Friends First,” Brodsky recounted, “I knocked and let them know I was entering with two girls, and the bathroom was vacant.” He expressed his conviction that taking them to the men’s room was not a suitable option, citing past experiences there as part of his reasoning.
The man recorded in the video was seen shouting at Brodsky while he was assisting his daughters in washing their hands. According to Brodsky, the man mentioned that his wife and “seriously ill” mother-in-law had alerted him about a man being in the women’s restroom. The emotional situation escalated, causing one of Brodsky’s daughters to cry. Eventually, the KwikTrip manager stepped in, closing the bathroom door to the agitated bystanders, and offered an apology to Brodsky and his daughters.
Brodsky told the co-host of the show that he aimed to reassure his daughters during the distressing episode. Fortunately, he later mentioned in another TikTok video that three police officers appeared at the scene and confirmed that he had done nothing wrong.
