The platform will initially charge subscribers $15 a month. This is a price that would later rise to $19.99, with revenue from users being shared among journalists and content creators.

“What we really wanted to do is build an architecture that will allow the best journalists to enter the content creator economy,” Ferguson said.

While teaching at Princeton, Ferguson came up with the concept of nosfair. There, they realized that traditional business models for reporters were disappearing rapidly.
