Trump says Putin will accept European peacekeepers in Ukraine | US foreign policy

Donald Trump said Russian leader Vladimir Putin would accept Ukrainian European peacekeeping forces as part of a potential deal to end the Three Years' War.

The US president was speaking with French president Emmanuel Macron on Monday at the White House.

However, the conference voted against a UN resolution denounced by the US's invasion of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and is monitoring countries such as North Korea, Belarus and Sudan over European allies. The Democrats branded the move as “disgrace.”

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Macron said he was ready to provide security assurances to Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire that involves peacekeeping forces, but they would be sent to the frontline. He said it wouldn't happen.

Trump said he would not object to European troops being sent to Ukraine to serve as Peacemakers, adding that he had raised an idea with Putin. “Yeah, he'll accept that,” the US president said. “I asked him that question.

“Look, if we're going to make this deal, he's not looking for more war. He doesn't care, but I asked him specifically about that question. He's the problem. there is no.”

Last week, Trump branded “dictator” Ukrainian President Voldimia Zelensky and falsely denounced Ukraine for starting a war, indicating a fundamental violation with Europe.

He told reporters at a joint press conference in the East Room. “It's time to end this blood blood and restore peace. We had some great conversations, including Russia… Our focus is to achieve a ceasefire as soon as possible, and to the end It focuses on achieving lasting peace.”

The US president claimed that he has made more progress in the past month than he has done in the last three years. “I believe Emmanuel agrees with me on many of the issues that matter most,” he said. “Europe must play a central role in ensuring Ukraine's long-term security.”

Macron replied that he and Trump thought they had “taken a very substantial step” in their argument.

Trump and his team have negotiated a mineral revenue sharing agreement with Ukraine to reclaim some of the money the previous administration sent to Kiev to repel Russia.

Previously, in an oval office, Trump described the mineral trade as “very close” and said he might meet Zelenkey school soon.

“He might come to sign the contract this week or next week, but that would be fine,” Trump said.

Zelenskyy last week rejected the US demand for mineral wealth from Washington, and Washington repaid its wartime aid.

Asked if Ukraine is willing to transfer territory to Russia as part of the negotiated end of the conflict, Trump said he would “see,” noting that discussions were only just beginning. .

Macron became the first European leader to visit Trump as he regained power a month ago. He was in the White House for a morning session that lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes, including a leader taking part in a video conference with other G7 leaders on Ukraine.

The two predicted integrity, but clashed when Trump made false claims about funding the war. He states: They're getting their money back. ”

Macron leaned in to touch Trump's arm and intervened. I paid 60% of the total effort. It was like the US: loans, guarantees, grants. Russia's assets, a European frozen asset, have $230 million. However, this is not a loan collateral as it is not our affiliation. They're frozen. ”

Trump replied: “If you believe it, it's fine for me. They'll get the money back, and we won't. But now we're doing that.”

At a joint press conference, Trump said: “Before I came here, there was no communication with Russia. Russia hadn't answered the phone…but when I came here, the first phone I made was One is going to President Putin and that's a big deal because we want to end this war.

He added:

However, Macron warned: “I think going to peace is very important, but my strength was being that “Let's try to get something that can be evaluated, checked and verified first.” ”

He added: “We want peace, but we don't want weak agreement.”

British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer is visiting Trump later in the week amidst European vigilance over Trump's strengthened stance on Ukraine and an overture to Moscow on conflict three years ago.
