Hegseth dismisses question about 'under qualified' Trump Joint Chiefs pick

Defense Secretary Pete Hegses declined to question a reporter on Monday that suggested that President Trump had proposed elections for his new co-hero, Dan Kane.

Trump on Friday eliminated four-star general General Charles “CQ” Brown Jr. as co-chief chair, and replaced him with three-star general Cain. It was part of a wider purge of the pentagonal posts that Trump made.

“I will choose to reject questions you do not qualify for,” the Secretary of Defense replied before moving on to the next question.

That's all. That's what we're thinking. This is the only litmus test to do.

Brown refused to resign after President Trump won the election, but accepted the fire, thanking him for his ability to serve the country in a linked post on Saturday.

“I was inspired to serve my father. He said, “Four years in the army will not hurt you.” It's now 40 years and is surrounded by the best service members and civilians from all over the country. Brown, the country's second black man to chair the Joint Chief of Staff, inspired me every day.

“It was my clear honor to conclude my career as Chairman of the Co-State Chief of Staff. As Chairman, I focused on combat, modernization and trust. Joint forces on our security. Our commitment has become more important than ever. I am confident that you will continue to be determined to protect our country. Sharene and I have to be the best of you and your family. I hope. Thank you for your leadership.”
