One of Steve Smith Sr.'s children collided with people sending “nasty messages” to their families in the wake of allegations of fraud committed against the former NFL All-Pro.
Smith Sr., 45, was accused by Tony Martinez of having an affair with Martinez's wife in several explicit X posts over the weekend. The account that posted the complaint has been deleted.
“Your kind words and prayers are felt and appreciated. Smith's son Payton wrote in an Instagram post featuring photos of him and his three brothers' mother, Angie.
“I don't spend much time on negativity, but for people who send hateful messages to my family, it has nothing to do with your day than you message your hatred to strangers. I hope you will take the time to reflect.
Martinez claimed that his wife was a member of the March Ravens, a Baltimore Ravens marching band.
Currently an NFL network analyst, Smith played his final three seasons with the Ravens 13 years later with the Panthers.
The deleted account posted a screenshot showing sexually charged text allegedly exchanged between Smith and Martinez's wife.
He also posted a video depicting a man calling someone called out to be said to be Smith, accusing him of having sex with his wife.
The man on the other end of the phone said, “Sorry.”
The allegations caught the attention of former nflers Shannon Sharp and Chad Johnson on the “Night Cap” podcast.
“Steve Smith is not loyal to you, so you will never stand up to an individual,” Johnson said, referring to Martinez. “You talk to your wife, you check on your wife… Understand who you are married. The nature of human beings is undefeated.”
Sharp said Smith was just at his Super Bowl party and they've known each other for 20 years.
