President Trump is as popular as ever, enacting exactly what he said he would do – too rare among politicians. The two things are not mutually exclusive. Because he is working on exactly what he said.
But Congressional Republicans risk blowing away all goodwill and record-breaking approval ratings by not doing what is necessary to get Trump back. As the old proverb says, no one can take defeat from the jaws of victory like Republicans.
Trump effectively suffocated the border with an entry for illegal immigrants who have craters from the Biden administration's open border policy. The deportation of criminals has begun, and welfare benefits have been cut off. But Congress must act to build walls and make those Trump changes permanent.
They're moving…slowly.
Regulations have been cut, dead weight in the bureaucracy has been fired, and previously wasted money has been taken away from its nails, but Republicans are nervous. They may be stupid enough to believe in those who scream loudly to protect mid-level bureaucrats they have never met. They cannot convey the difference at City Hall between the concerns of real components and the high-pitched voices of the organized left wing singing for dinner.
Republicans need to wear their big boys pants and accept the reality that the left is mobilized against them and therefore not copious. That's what they do. The public is on the way that Republicans are trying to do now. No matter how loudly Democrats scream, they have to stick to it and avoid wobbling.
The public doesn't understand budget settlements – they don't care. But the fight now isn't about not finishing what they promised, but about whether they've got one or two bills over the course of months.
If Republicans are looking after the small, big things, they will have all the cover they need to do just about anything else they want. But if people can't buy gas, eggs, or a house, then anything else is not important.
If Republicans don't make the 2017 tax cuts permanent, if they don't lower prices and roll the economy again, everything else they do will do. If voters can't afford food or rent, Democrats return to power. Penn's strokes restore funding to nonprofits of friends and family con artists. Our government pretends not to know what the word “woman” means under Title IX, and to protect in court the amputation of a completely healthy child in the name of gender pseudo-science. Return to.
That's why all Republicans need to row in the same direction now. And of course, it's not. Because that's what Republicans do.
Democrats march on Rockstep. They have a uniformity of purpose and thought. By contrast, Republicans are a coalition of individuals, many of whom act as if the bluff is called when they are in a position to maintain the promises of the campaign. Today, most Democrats are leftists. On the other side, that's not the case. All Republicans talk about conservative stories, but only two-thirds of them are on a walk.
Democrats are willing to sacrifice their jobs for a progressive cause. We witness the predictable election genocide they suffered after voting for Obamacare. Republicans were unable to abolish or replace the same law when they won the majority because the late Senator, who won the abolition that the late Senator John McCain (R-Aris) promised to abolition, was abolished. But what's really embarrassing is that when he does, you can almost hear the collective relief sighs from the many Republican House members who voted in favor of abolition.
Republicans are now getting momentum. This is their moment, but somehow they don't have the necessary sense of urgency as the clock ticking during Trump's honeymoon phase. All presidencies, especially in the second term, have an expiration date. Trump is already a lame duck. But he did everything humanly possible to run to the ground.
Congressional Republicans are just hitting the ground. Instead of action, we have a more worthless committee hearing. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FLA.) is accused of releasing the remaining documents relating to the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Rather than simply working, She plans a hearing and field trip to a crime scene. This is why people hate Congress and why that hatred is justified.
The clock is ticking. If Congress continues to dawn, you can forget about the rest of your honeymoon and go straight to divorce.
