Las Vegas Raiders’ Recent Struggles and Future Hopes
The Las Vegas Raiders have faced a challenging few seasons, seeing a decline in performance. They haven’t had a winning year since 2021, marking a drought that includes failing to make the playoffs. Their record has been less than inspiring, with a particularly tough 3-14 season in 2025. This lack of success even cost them the first overall pick in the 2026 draft.
In a recent podcast interview on “Stick to Football,” Tom Brady, a minority owner of the Raiders and a commentator for FOX, shared his thoughts on the team’s future. He expressed optimism about improvement, stating, “I think we’re going to see a significant improvement over what we’ve seen in the past. We underperformed in every area last year.” He also acknowledged a collective shortcoming among players, saying, “There’s not a single player that’s done a good job.” He emphasized the need for everyone to step up, including himself.
Brady highlighted the importance of gradual progress, suggesting that a successful team should enhance their performance as the season unfolds. This sentiment aligns with the team’s recent changes, including the hiring of Clint Kubiak, the former Seattle Seahawks coach known for winning a Super Bowl, as their new head coach.
In addition, the Raiders have invested in new talent, drafting quarterback Fernando Mendoza as their top pick and signing veteran Kirk Cousins to push for competition in that role. They have also welcomed several other players, including Tyler Linderbaum and Key Walker, aiming to strengthen their roster.
As the team gears up for the upcoming season, they’ll face the Miami Dolphins in Week 1 on September 13th. Raiders fans are likely hoping for a turnaround, filled with hope and anticipation for a better season ahead.
