ESPN host Marika Andrews and ESPN NBA reporter Dave McMenamine shocked many when they tied the knot after years of private life last summer.
While appearing in “Straight Two-Cam” podcastAndrews explained that the couple agreed to keep their engagement private for nearly two years and ignored outside rumors about their relationship.
“We've been together for seven years [since 2018]Andrews told Los Angeles Sparks stars Cameron Brink and Sidell Curry Lee that he married Suns Guard Damionly and is Steph and Sescarie's sister.
“We met when we weren't working for ESPN. We met when we were working as a printing reporter at the New York Times. He lived in Cleveland at the time, a long time ago. When people didn't have information. , I think that in many cases, they fill in the gaps with what they can come up with.”
Andrews and McMenamin were engaged for almost two years before they got married in San Francisco on August 24, 2024, as seen in the photos obtained by Vogue.
The ESPN couple has never publicly announced their engagement.
Andrews, the face of ESPN's NBA studio coverage, joined ESPN in October 2018.
McMenamin joined the company in 2009.

Andrews explained why they decided to keep their relationship a secret.
“Everyone who knows us, we know each other socially. It was not a secret. I always like to draw between private and secret. We are private That's it,” she said.
“…Even people who know us, even the arena fans, could see us walking down the street together. Secret. It was private. [as in] Did not post on social media. It was a kind of line we made. I was wearing my big sparkly ring…and it wasn't something like “here is a picture of my suggestion.”
Andrews couldn't stop smiling while gushing over McMenamine, whom he described as particularly kind and patient.
“I don't remember the time of my life that he wasn't. [the one]Andrews said. “…He's my best friend and someone who wants to advise me about something in my life, it's professionally… my family or something stupid… I'm sure he's for everything I can do I don't remember when that wasn't the case.
“…He is a kind person, he is the smartest person I know, and he is the most caring person I know. And somehow, in this big work and in the big world, He has the time to make everyone around him feel like the most important person in the room. And that's what I tried to learn from him… he's endless for people. Has patience… the way he covers the league… I really admire him.
“It goes without saying that he has beautiful blue eyes, they're really pretty. He's the best I know. He's always been.”
