Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH) used social media Thursday morning to make a completely false claim that Trayvon Martin was “killed in police brutality.”
Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, she added her false claims by claiming his death.
As soon as it was posted it was published more than it disappeared, but Breitbart News captured the moment. See:
As reported previously by Breitbart News, Martin was fatally shot in 2012 during a physical altercation on the sidewalk in Sanford, Florida by a man identified as neighbourhood warden George Zimmerman.
Witnesses say that Martin finished on Zimmerman, begged him and began slamming his head on the ground. The victim reached for the waistband, pulled out a handgun, shot Martin in the chest, killing him.
Zimmerman's story was supported by all available evidence, including physical evidence. Martin's body was undamaged, but hitting Zimmerman had bullet wounds and abrasions, and Zimmerman's head had been lacerated, two black eyes and a broken nose.
Zimmerman insisted on self-defense. Eventually, the prosecutor charged him with second-degree murder, and the ju judge acquitted him.
