The majority of Americans say their income doesn't match the pace with inflation. A new survey has been found.
According to a CBS News/YouGov poll, 77% of respondents said their income was not keeping up to inflation. Only 23% say that.
60% of Americans who make less than $50,000 say they have a bad financial situation. That number falls in each income bracket, with only 15% of people making more than $100,000 a year saying they're in bad condition.
The survey noted that Americans' personal financial outlook drives a bigger view on many other things, including the wider economy.
President Trump campaigned on inflation and the economy. That was the biggest issue that led him to victory in the election last November.
While inflation has risen since he took office, he has called for him to distance himself from the issue, claiming that he “doesn't do anything” for the rise and denounces former president Biden.
According to the survey, 34% of respondents are optimistic about the economy next year and think it will be a growth or boom. 22% say they are stable, while 21% say they are slower.
23% of Americans say they believe the US economy will be in a recession.
Respondents tend to say they are interested in housing costs, groceries, groceries, debt payments, and money savings.
60% say the US economy is currently in a bad state, with a rise of two points under the Biden administration last year.
The CBS/YouGov survey was conducted among 2,340 adults between February 24 and 26 with an error of 2.3 percentage points.
