Thousands of Microsoft customers affected by large-scale outage

After Microsoft 365 stopped on Saturday afternoon, thousands of Microsoft customers were unable to access Outlook, including email and other services.

Shortly after the service was restored, around 4:40pm, the company announced that it had “identified a potential cause” and returned the suspicious code.

According to a statement posted to X, “we are monitoring telemetry to confirm recovery.”

The Down Detector reported Microsoft outages of more than 40,000 pm on Saturday.

Many people have used social media to report issues with Outlook emails, calendars and other Microsoft 365 applications.
