Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy put a heavy emphasis on the explosive Trump Zelensky exchange in Saturday's long summary, comparing the tense White House meeting to reality TV.
In a nearly eight-minute video posted to X, the outspoken commentator destroyed the incident and described the debate between world leaders as “surreal.”
“If you're here for a pizza review, just keep it moving,” Portnoy advised listeners. “But… I had to talk about this meeting with Zelenskyy. …I posted to Twitter. [Friday]. I said [it was] The most surreal thing I've ever seen in politics. It felt like I was watching Bravo TV.

Portnoy described the meeting as “civil, friendly and ending.” Social media personalities pointed to the contrast between those who supported President Donald Trump and those who supported Ukrainian leaders.
“If you're anti-Trump, you're basically saying, 'This is the worst day in American history,'” he explained. “We are basically Russia and the dictator, and we are the same as Putin and evil. And if you're a pro-Trump, you're like “in the end, the person who stands out for the American citizens, the American taxpayer.” ”

Portnoy said he “is on Trump's side rather than Zelensky's side here,” but he expressed sympathy for how Ukrainians were treated by Russia, suggesting that Trump's approach to diplomacy would ultimately be effective.
“The last administration, Biden, has [called] Everything that Killer, Dictator, Zelensky says is “the businessman explained it.” And what did it get us? Hundreds of billions of dollars have been given to Ukraine, and they are not really nearing ending this war. ”

Portnoy also said Zelensky's decision to wear a black sweatshirt instead of a suit to the White House is likely to rub Trump the wrong way.
“You can say anything about Trump. He personally takes signs of disrespect,” Portnoy explained. “I know he respects other things, so Zelensky appears and he wears his sweatshirt and his conventional clothes.
“To me, this is stupid. We're at war, and you're beginning to meet the new administration,” he added. “And that's a sign of disregarding Trump's lack of the same level of respect as an oval office that I think he deserves.”
Portnoy went on to say that Ukraine is “back with hell” and that he has not objected to Putin's fears, but that Ukraine needs “needs.”[s] The United States “shows some respect” and “.
“They should either respect or appreciate American taxpayers,” Portnoy continued. “We don't need to continue to put this bill in place, but I respect or understand that Trump doesn't want to slander Putin. The last administration gave us all the chances they could get.

“I don't necessarily have the answer, but I think Trump and Vance handled this as much as they could,” Portnoy concluded. “As in that case, I'm not going to get a SteamRoll to Zelenskyy at the expense of completing the transaction. That means I have to throw some flowers at Putin.
