The UK agreed to lend Ukraine about $3 billion on Saturday to support its efforts in the war with Russia.
Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelensky thanked his fellow European countries for their support amidst the conflict.
“The loan will be repaid using revenue from frozen Russian assets, increasing Ukraine's defensive capabilities. The funds will be directed towards arms production in Ukraine,” the Ukrainian leader wrote.
“This is true justice. Those who start the war must be the ones who pay.”
Current funds are pooled from Ukraine (ERA)'s extraordinary G7 revenue acceleration, valued at $50 billion. Under the G7 ERA mechanism, Ukraine has already received $3 billion from the European Union, plus $1 billion from the US and Europe. According to Ukraine's Ministry of Finance.
“The UK continues to withstand Ukraine's defense. Today's agreement, which contributes to strengthening Ukraine's defensive capabilities, confirms this. We thank the UK government for this support for her important efforts in making this agreement possible.
The agreement follows an oval office meeting on Friday with heated Friday, during which President Trump and Vice President Vance fired at Zelensky, accusing him of ungratefulness to US support and aid. After the meeting, Trump wrote of the true society, Zelensky said, “If America were involved, we would not be ready for peace.”
The meeting with British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer has been particularly friendly with Ukrainian leaders calling it “meaning and warmth.” I'll post it on x,
