Trump says US should spend ‘less time worrying about Putin,’ calls his former advisor an ‘ineffective loser’

US President Donald Trump criticized the former national security adviser on Sunday, saying the US government should spend time worrying about Russian President Vladimir Putin amid Moscow's ongoing war with Ukraine.

Trump commented on Sunday night in a pair of posts on the true social aspects of his social media platform after Lt. Gen. HR McMaster, who served as Trump's national security adviser during his first administration.

“HR McMaster is a weak and ineffective loser!” Trump wrote.

“We need to spend more time worrying about Putin, and we need to worry about immigrant rape gangs, drug lords, murderers and people in mental institutions entering our country, he said in a follow-up post.

McMaster was criticising Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance after meeting Zelensky in his oval office. During negotiations, Trump and Vance were highly criticised the Ukrainian president for a tense exchange between leaders of both countries before the US president shortened the meeting and sent Zelensky in his middle.

“It's impossible to understand why President Trump and Vice President Vance decided to put more pressure on President Zelensky, who appears to be dodging Putin. Those who gave this horrible war in Ukraine,” McMaster told X on Friday.

The explosion in the oval office was caused by Zelensky's demand for security assurance, where war continued, after Russia invaded Ukraine more than three years ago.
