NFL owners upset by Bill Belichick pursuing ‘Hard Knocks’ opportunity

After many NFL owners refused to pick up their teams in “Hard Knock: Offseason,” they are now reportedly pissed at the decision to pivot on Bilbericchick's North Carolina tar heel.

The NFL Films and the HBO series struggled to get NFL teams to bite the upcoming offseason version of “Hard Knock.” So the new college team, a former NFL coach, was the next best option.

“It is said that some owners are not excited by the decision to feature Belichick on an NFL-owned platform.” Profootballtalk reported.

“Beyond certain bridges, Belichick has been eliminated, and more general offenses on professional football have been led by his conciguille Mike Lombardi, and Belichick is heading towards Persona non-grata territory, as far as some NFL owners are concerned,” Mike Florio reported on the outlet.

If Belichick wants to return the NFL one day, if many of the league's owners are tired of him, he certainly isn't making himself a goodwill.

The NFL film probably had no plans to shift its focus to the university level until Belichick knocked and “actively pursued.”

“According to multiple sources, the shocking moves flow from the close relationship between Belichick and NFL Films VP/Executive Producer Ken Rodgers,” the outlet wrote.

Belichick was a mysterious man for 24 seasons with the New England Patriots.

He often gave the media a dry sky answer and seemed unloved to the spotlight.

That certainly changed after his retirement as he had left coaching and landed many TV and media gigs and was now competing to fill up his team's offseason with HBO.

By turning down the opportunity for “hard knock,” the NFL team wanted to avoid embarrassing moments when the offseason aired to a larger audience, such as last year's offseason of the Giants' Saquon Barkrate Rade.

However, after learning of the owner's complaints about the “hard knock” that selects Belichick's Tar Heels, the owner seems happy if he had accepted the invitation.
