Police Arrest Man For Allegedly Swallowing $800,000 Worth Of Luxury Jewelry, Scanning His Insides For Evidence

Authorities stole the jewels from a store in Orlando, Florida, and then Tiffany & Co. worth $800,000. He accused him of swallowing it.

Jathan Lawrence Guilder is said to have impersonated an Orlando Magic Player representative to reach the gorgeous gem. It has been reportedcited the Orlando Police Station (OPD) arrest report. The 32-year-old is said to have swallowed $769,500 worth of merchandise, including two 8.19 carat diamond earrings priced at $609,500 and two 4.86 carat diamond earrings totaling $160,000.

He was accused of stealing a $587,000 ring that was later recovered, police said.

Police stopped Guilder in an Interstate 10 vehicle before performing a body scan at the prison, according to an arrest report. The scan allegedly helped investigators discover the missing earrings in his stomach.

The man “voluntarily asked the prison staff,” OPD said, “would be charged with what's in my stomach.” He added: “I should have been thrown out the window.”

Police say Guilder was taken into custody on charges of resistance in addition to 48 unpaid warrants from Colorado. (Related: Video shows a bravely predatory jewellery store in daytime robbery)

“These foreign objects are suspected to be Tiffany & Co earrings filmed in the robbery, but they must be collected by WCSO after passing through Guilder's system before confirming,” the arrest report said.

Guilder was booked Friday and faces grand larceny charges in his first degree, facing Orange County masks and robberies. Inmate's record show.

Police learned that the suspect had previously been charged with allegedly robbing the Texas Tiffany & Company location in 2022 by reviewing his criminal history, WFLA reported.
